Parenting Nugget #7

Parenting Nugget #7: Mutual loving confrontation is a significant part of all successful and meaningful human relationships. Without it the relationship is either unsuccessful or shallow. If parents love their children, they must, carefully confront and criticize them from when needed and they must allow their children to confront and criticize themselves in turn. There are two ways to confront/criticise – one is showing authority, a way of arrogance and the other is careful analysis of self-introspection, a more humble way. The first way leaves the your children shattered and either result in meekness or extreme violence in their personalities. The second way is exercising leadership, allowing your children to see perspectives and nurture spiritual growth.
