Parenting Nugget #2

Parenting Nugget #2: White lying is socially acceptable in many relationships, including parenting. Parents who show a rosy picture to their kids, they don’t tell they fought with each other the night before, they don’t tell they smoke or drink , they don’t tell that they are emotionally vulnerable or that they are going through financial crisis. Usually such withholding of truth and lack of openness comes from a desire to protect kids from worries. But kids sense all of these anyways as they always vibrate higher. The result is that kids are deprived of knowledge and lessons on dealing with challenges of life. Finally, they are deprived of role models of openness and honesty. How do you expect kids to face challenges with courage and complete honesty when they don’t see that around.
